Speaking of PS Plus Premium, Sony recently revealed the new games lineup for the month. The Last of Us Part 2 has finally received its long-awaited PlayStation 5 upgrade, 11 months to the day since Naughty Dog's epic sequel launched on PS4 and Pro. The Last of Us Part 1 has been described as an "expensive remaster". The Last of Us Part I launches on the PS5 on September 2nd. The same goes for its sequel, The Last of Us Part II, which is one of the most GOTY'ed games in history and is expected to be the basis of the plot for Season 2 of the show. Joel, a violent survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a small job soon. The Last of Us is now a franchise and within that framework, a remake so soon actually makes a lot of sense. It should go without saying, but if you haven't played The Last of Us Part 1 before, you should be aware that the game is a playable spoiler. The penultimate episode's release also coincides with the launch of The Last of Us Part 1 on the PC. HBO's The Last of Us is expected to air through March 12. It's certainly an interesting marketing strategy and one that could work. Now that the PS5 shortage is reportedly over and more stocks of the PS5 are available on the market, Sony is banking on non-gamers shelling out cash to buy a PS5 and a PS Plus Premium subscription after watching the first episode of HBO's The Last of Us on HBO and HBO Max. Unfortunately, the majority of those who have a PS Plus Premium subscription have likely already played the "older" version of the game - The Last of Us Remastered is available as part of the PS Plus Collection for PS5 owners.īut, hey, you'll never know unless you try, right?
